Summer Artist in Residence: Helena Powell
This July and August we are delighted to welcome textile artist Helena Powell as our Summer Artist in Residence.
Working from a studio within the gallery, Helena will be developing Hand Woven Landscapes: From Mill to Loom —an evolving exhibition inspired by colour, rhythm and the rich silk-weaving heritage of Sudbury.
Visitors can experience works in progress, see a working loom in action and discover the craftsmanship behind contemporary hand weaving.
Throughout the residency Helena will also lead a programme of inspiring textile workshops for all abilities.
