  Cathy D’Arcy

Ceramicist and Printmaker

Cathy D’Arcy is a Sudbury based artist. Her work takes its inspiration from her childhood which was spent in Africa and Kuwait, where bold colours

and patterns delighted her eye.

Cathy works with porcelain and stoneware clays, rolled into slabs which are then formed into vessels, figures, animals and tiles. Features and patterns are drawn and carved into the clay, oxides: englobes and glazes are used to define the designs with colour.

Every new piece of work surprises her and makes her smile while it is being handcrafted on her bench.
