  Lucy Caster

Lucy Caster is a print designer based in Edinburgh. She graduated in Textile Design from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design in Dundee in 2018 and has since been developing her practice, creating eco-conscious textile products alongside a collection of fine art prints.

Her work takes inspiration from disruptive imagery of construction work and the rebellious connotations of street art. Her aim is to promote sustainable design in an exciting and contemporary light.

Lucy’s textile products are made from natural linen, derived from flax plants grown in Eastern Europe and woven in England. Flax grows quickly, requiring little water or attention and it’s natural qualities make it extremely durable. Her products are digitally printed and constructed in Edinburgh by small local businesses who practice sustainable processes. Digital printing is much less chemical and water intensive than traditional printing processes and local manufacturers practice waste-conscious methods to ensure textile offcuts are minimal.
