April Spring Landscapes: A Textile Workshop with Dorothy Ronaldson . Date: Thursday 3rd April 2025 Time: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM Join us for a creative day exploring the beauty of a Springtime landscape through textile art. Led by Dorothy Ronaldson, this workshop will guide you in composing a fabric collage and using various hand stitches to add floral elements and detail to your creation. Stitches include bullion and French knots, fly stitch, feather stitch, chain stitch, running stitch, and whipped stitching. You’ll also have the opportunity to paint fabrics, including luxurious Sudbury silk, to take home for future projects. All stages and stitches will be demonstrated, and the workshop will cover the basics of landscape composition, as well as ideas for mounting and framing your work. What’s included: • A selection of plain and painted fabrics (mainly silk) • Firm iron-on interfacing • Sheer ribbon • Angelina fibres • Embroidery threads (fine perle, stranded, sateen) • Fabric paints, brushes, and droppers What to bring: • Fabric and thread cutting scissors • Medium-size Crewel and Milliners needles These items can be purchased from specialist stores like Lingards in Sudbury or online. This workshop is perfect for those with some stitch experience and will introduce you to a new and exciting medium to explore further at home. Refreshments: Tea, coffee, cakes, and biscuits will be provided. Please bring a packed lunch. What to wear: Comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting paint on, or an apron. Access: Please note this workshop is held in the upper gallery, which is not accessible for wheelchair users. We apologise for any inconvenience. Spaces are limited, so booking is essential.

Cancellation Policy
Places on our courses will be allocated on a first come, first served basis once payment has been received. Completing the application form without also making payment does not reserve a place on the course. All applicants must pay after submitting their form to guarantee a place on their chosen course. Refunds and Cancellations Cancellations are permitted up to one week before the start of a course, subject to a £25 cancellation fee. Refunds will not be made for cancellations less than 72 hours before the start of a course. Students who do not attend due to illness, personal or professional commitments do not have the right to a refund. Access The workshop takes place in the upper gallery which is not suitable for wheel chair access. Please notify the Gallery if participants have physical disabilities or special learning needs. The use of mobile telephones, radios, personal stereos is not allowed. Please take care of your belongings at all times and never leave valuables unattended. We regret that we cannot be held responsible for the loss of participants’ belongings. Participants must make sure that they take all work and belongings away at the end of the class.
